Amanda and James
“I took better care of my car than my body!” 
Amanda was a physically active, normal young girl who never had a weight problem. This all changed when she reached her thirties and the weight started piling on. She continues: “My sister used to be appalled at the amount I ate when we were young. I never gained weight as I was so active and did not worry. Little did I realize then that it all catches up on you and I suddenly started gaining weight at an alarming rate in my mid thirties. I could not understand this as my eating habits had not changed.
 I became desperate and started trying all the quick fix weight loss products on the market. The pills, shakes and injections (which I was petrified of!) didn’t work and I reached the stage where I was psychologically shattered. I then decided that the only way to lose weight was by starving myself. The more I did so, the more weight I gained! Little did I realize how much damage I was doing to my body. You can imagine how desperate I was feeling.

My husband, James, and I went on holiday at this time and he took a photo of me which jolted me into shocking reality.
