"I feel amazing"
My employer arranged an executive medical examination for all executives during October 2010. I’ve had one of this before and thought to myself, they’ll just tell me what I already know again. The results were shocking: although on treatment, my blood pressure was high, liver function affected and protein in my urine. I felt really run down, my feet were swollen and I experienced a burning sensation on the soles of my feet and hand palms. The medical doctor advised me to lose between 8 and 10 kg immediately as I may run the risk of becoming diabetic as well.
I immediately made some adjustments to my lifestyle and after having lost 2 kg from the 18th Oct mainly due to stress and some minor adjustment to my eating habits, started my journey on 1 Nov 2010 weighing in at 91 kilos.
The first week was really taxing; I felt light headed, aches in pains in all my joints and constantly thirsty, but I persevered and lost 2,5kg in the first week. This was amazing and a definite motivator to continue. I got into the habit of ensuring 5 hours between meals, starting meals with a protein, etc. and became creative with spices and combinations that suites my taste.
Now the good news: on the 7th Dec 2010 I weighed in at 84,8kg which means I reached my goal weight of 85kg within a period of 5 weeks and I feel amazing! The burning sensation in me hands and feet are gone, I lost 6cm around my chest, 5cm on my waist and 6cm around my hips. All my trousers are too big and I had to buy new SMALLER belts. Colleagues and friends who haven’t seen me in a while says; “What happened to you?” when they see me and I really feel good about myself.
My advisor has now requested my Lifestyle Plan but suggested that I continue on the Quick loss plan with minor cheats over the festive season until I return from leave in the second week of Jan 2011, where after I will also have my medical situation assessed again.
